6 year old Hau lives here with his twin brother because
their mother is too poor to take care of them at home.

10 year old Tuon has severe physical disability from CP but has
above average intelligence and loves learning English.

Khanh is 14 years old and has CP. He cannot speak but is a great
comedian and has no trouble communicating with others.

Huong is 11 years old and has no disability. She lives at the orphanage with
her 2 older brothers after being abandoned by her parents.

Vu is 12 years old with cerebral palsy. He has only learned to walk and talk in
recent years but is making good progress. He loves attending school.


Ba Tuoc is 5 years old with no disability. He came to the orphanage
due to difficult circumstances at home.

Ngoc Lien is 3 and has lived at the orphanage since
she was a baby. She has recently been adopted to America.

Hai is 8 years old with physical and intellectual disability
due to cerebral palsy. His great progress was halted last year by a severe
and prolonged seizure. He is now advancing again slowly and with great determination.

As well as learning to read and write in the special education program, the
disabled children at the orphanage also learn to play and participate in everyday life.

Hien is 6 years old and had a cleft lip and palate that have
been repaired during his stay at the orphanage.


Tri is 12 years old and could not read, write or walk when he came to us 3 years ago.
He is now learning to do these things through our training programs.

Minh Hien was unresponsive when she arrived at the orphanage.
She is now laughing, talking and playing thanks to the wonderful special education teachers.

Gai is 18 years old with severe intellectual and physical disabilities from cerebral palsy.
Although she now has regular rehabilitation we can now make little progress because she was untreated for so long.

Khanh Ly is 14 and was literally put out with the garbage by her family.
She is tactile and loving and likes to be held.

Xi is 11 with severe disabilities. Due to the treatment she now receives at the orphanage,
Xi has started to engage with the outside world after years of withdrawal.


Jackie is the founder of the Kianh Foundation and the onsite representative for the Kianh and Hoi An Foundations.
She makes all the work possible and the children love her.

Van Mai is 13 and is motivated and determined. All day he strives to overcome
his physical disabilities. He is making good progress.

Yen Nhi is 13 with severe mental disability.
She is learning to walk and lives happily at the orphanage.
